Jones III, the founder and executive director for ACFHC, was nominated this year (2010) for all of the volunteering he does with A Cry for Help Corp, Oleander UMC Children’s Ministry, various schools of the kids being mentored, foster parent, etc for the Smart Start of New Hanover County volunteering award.

Jane Murphy commits her time and knowledge to ACFHC by volunteering for several positions within the program. She serves as Secretary, Board of Directors and is a Mentor.

Scooter’s Skating Rink (910-797-8550) offered ACFHC a special rate, which made it possible for ACFHC to host our first annual back-to-school bash.
Belk (www.Belk.com) hosted the Charity Day sale, which helped ACFHC raise funds. ACFHC thanks everyone else who purchased Belk-Charity-Day tickets.
Natalie Costantino, Maggie Turner, and Christy Wicker, UNCW Professional Writing Class Students, who recreated the website for ACFHC.
Robert J. Brickels Jr., Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Development for the UNCW SeaHawks for his generosity in providing ACFHC Mentoring Program basketball tickets for two UNCW Seahawks Men and Women Basketball games.

Josh is 11 years old and is in the 6th grade at Roland Grise Middle School. He is a good student and receives recognition for his good behavior at school. Josh is a lover of all sports but his favorite is basketball. . He recently participated in the Science Olympiad where he and his brother Daylon placed 5th. He is a trained Acolyte and is willing to serve in that capacity whenever needed. He is also always an eager participant in all youth activities. Josh makes friends easily, is a pleasure to be around and is a good helper at home. We love Josh and are so proud of him!!
